An UPS typically does two things, It either provides power to enable the safe shutdown of equipment and saving data to a non-volatile medium, or It provides power to equipment over the duration of fault/failure, enabling equipment to operate continuously. Safe shutdown is completed through embedded programming that communicates shutdown protocol to the user and/or initiates shutdown procedure automatically at the point of fault/failure. An UPS system converts AC power into DC power for the battery and then convert it back into AC power for the load. This double conversion has many variations. All these designs incorporate an inverter to convert DC into AC. It is the inverter operation which defines an UPS as on-line or off-line. Soyo offers two varieties in UPS system as Online UPS and Off-line UPS which gives a large application area to our customers such as industrial applications, household application, etc.
